Matthew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing in iconic sitcom Friends is no more.

The actor was found dead at his Los Angeles home from an apparent drowning in a hot tub. He was 54.

Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, on August 19, 1969. 

Matthew's father John Bennet Perry was an American actor and former model.

He was mostly raised by his mother in Ottawa, Canada where he attended elementary school with Justin Trudeau.

While we all know Perry for his role in Friends, he also appeared in scores of other TV shows - including Studio 60 on the Sunset Trip, The Good Wife, The Odd Couple, to name a few.

His comedy films include Fools Rush In, The Whole Nine Yards, Three To Tango, The Kid, and  many other movies.

The final episode of iconic sitcom Friends was watched by 52.5 million in the US, making it the most watched episode in 2000s.

Perry was cast as the awkward Chandler Bing in Friends, famous for his sarcastic one-liners. 

The role earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2002.

Perry battled for years with addiction to painkillers and alcohol and attended rehabilitation clinics.

Matthew Perry was an incredibly gifted actor and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his fans.
