Gudi Padwa marks the onset of spring and the harvest of Rabi crops.

Gudi Padwa is observed in Maharashtra, Goa, and Daman as Chaitra begins.

The festivity is marked by the rangoli along with the ceremonial raising of a unique flagpole  known as gudi dvaja.

Gudi dvaja is a fancy cloth decorated with flowers, mangoes, neem leaves, sugar crystals known as gathi, and topped with silver or copper pots.

This year Gudi Padwa is falling on April 9, 2024.

Before starting the Puja, clean the entire house, take an oil bath, and wear new clothes.

Create a dish that blends the bitterness of neem leaves with the sweetness of jaggery.
