Actor Evan Ellingson best known for his roles in American drama film "My Sister's Kepper" and "CSI: Miami" is dead at the age of 35.

Ellingson was found dead in his Fontana residence on Sunday, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

The cause of the death is still unknown and the results of autopsy will come later this week.

According to Evan's father he had struggled with substance abuse in the past but had shown improvements in recent years. 

Evan Ellingson was most popular for his role as Jesse Fitzgerald in the 2009 film My Sister's Keeper alongside Cameron Diaz, Jason Patric, and Abigail Breslin.

His latest TV appearance was in CSI: Miami where he played the character Kyle Harmon from 2007 to 2010.

Paying tribute, his former co-star Abigail Breslin said "Evan was a kind, funny, and extremely talented human being".
