Sean Combs accused of sex trafficking and assault by ex-girlfriend Cassie.

The singer has alleged that the rapper raped and physically assaulted her multiple times over the span of a decade.

The suit was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

It accuses Bad Boy Records and other companies linked to Combs of being complicit in the alleged abuse. Epic Records is also listed as a defendant.

In her complaint, Cassie has accused the rapper of trafficking, raping, drugging, and viciously beating her on numerous occasions over the span of 10 years.

"After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story," Ventura said in a statement released by her legal team.

The lawsuit describes the musician as a "serial domestic abuser, regularly subjecting Ms. Ventura to beatings and kicks that resulted in black eyes, bruises, and blood."

Mr. Combs, also known by the stage name Puff Daddy, refutes the allegations and accuses the singer of attempting to extort him.

According to BBC News, Mr. Combs' lawyer stated that Ms. Ventura had demanded $30 million (£24 million) "with the implied threat of publishing a detrimental book about their relationship."

In reply Ms. Ventura's lawyer, Doug Wigdor, stated that Mr. Combs had proposed a payment in the eight-figure range to silence her and deter her from filing this lawsuit.

Another startling claim in the lawsuit is that Combs "destroyed a man's car upon discovering his romantic interest in Ms. Ventura." The individual in question is rapper Kid Cudi.

Combs and Cassie started dating in 2007 and maintained an on-and-off relationship for over a decade.

Ms. Cassie released several hits in the 2000s, including songs that featured Diddy. Her most famous tracks include Me & U, Long Way to Go and Official Girl, featuring Lil Wayne.
